Aydın Boysan

Aydın Boysan was born in Istanbul on June 17, 1921. He was the son of Mrs. Nevreste, a teacher, and Esat Boysan, an accountant. In 1939, he graduated from Pertevniyal High School and in 1945 from the Academy of Fine Arts (Architecture Department of Mimar Sinan University). He continued his profession without interruption until 1999. He was among the founders of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey; he became a member of the board of directors, the first general secretary and the president of the Istanbul branch. Between 1957 and 1972, he taught at Istanbul Technical University. He won awards in national and international architecture competitions. He founded Bas Publishing to publish his own books (1984-93). He wrote columns for Hürriyet and Akşam newspapers for ten years and three years respectively.


He passed away on January 5, 2018.
